Some commercial sliding wall applications stand out more than others – namely for the way our products were applied in a novel way or their ability to deliver the solution our client needed. We take great pride in our most innovative commercial sliding wall applications, incorporating glass and wood and employing our much sought after frameless technology.
Here are three projects that “fit the bill” as some of our most innovative.
Frameless Sliding Systems at Sunstone Hotel Headquarters, Irvine, CA
Sometimes, renovations can be tricky. It’s so important to plan carefully so that a client doesn’t end up disappointed with the finished product. Thankfully, both Sunstone and Klein paid close attention to the effects of demolition and imperative details such as sunlight and ventilation.
With the Sunstone Hotel Headquarters renovation, Klein needed to provide a finished product that would not only maximize the amount of sunlight allowed into offices but also provide the ability for employees to gather in privacy for meetings and individual work.
We decided to tackle this challenge by using Rollglass+, our frameless sliding glass panels, to create the necessary divisions for the walls and doors of offices. The minimalist design meant that there was little to impede the natural light that streamed in through the exterior windows and permeated the entire space. Glass doors could slide quietly – with little interruptions to working employees – from the Klein Soft Closing mechanisms we installed.
The result was the creation of a sophisticated interior space design with a balance of enclosed space along with open social space…accommodating everyone and every need.
Glass Commercial Sliding Wall Applications at Gensler Office, Denver, CO
When Gensler announced that their goal was to create “the best place to work in Denver”, we knew our team at Klein had a significant project on its hands. Aside from designing a space to meet Gensler’s design laundry list for making its workplace the best, we were given the criterion that it be as sustainable as possible.
Accessibility was key – particularly with a street-level used for hosting public and private events, and a second-story that housed workspaces….connected by a “high collaboration zone” staircase.
Technology was important too. The space needed to be outfitted for state-of-the-art technology, especially accessible in the collaboration zone. For the work areas, Rollglass+ once again was the optimal choice for providing glass walls and doors to create the interior office space. Rollglass+ sliding glass walls gave flexibility to afford many options, from quiet individual workspace to a public lounge area to spaces for standing, working conversations – where some of the most cooperative design ideas would be flushed out.
Such high goals…yet with Klein’s products, we were able to help Gensler deliver on their goal for current and prospective employees.
Wood and Glass Commercial Sliding Wall Applications at PMMT Healthcare Office, Barcelona, Spain
As with the Gensler project, the PMMT office staff was very focused on the user experience for its space. It was important for daily users, as well as visitors, to function in a space that fostered interaction through openness yet offered private areas for meetings and brainstorming activities.
Klein knew its main challenge would be accommodating PMMT’s business model – encouraging collective work but providing flexibility as the team and individual needs required. A sliding track approach would allow PMMT to provide a large work area for the entire team to share and additionally some changeable spaces that could support various team members and various circumstances.
The aesthetic of PMMT was quite different from the first two innovative commercial sliding wall applications profiled here. From the photos, you’ll notice wood panels and some walls and sliding doors from a combination of wood and glass. The product of choice to help us deliver this unique look was SLID.
SLID allowed us to divide spaces based on function through the use of single, bi-parting or bi-passing wooden doors. As with glass, sliding doors optimize clearance and have a minimalist design with just a slightly different aesthetic – which was a perfect fit for a space that needed to convey warmth and a touch of home.
KLEIN designs its fixed and sliding wall applications with a double purpose. First, we work to achieve the highest level of functionality. Secondly, we seek to achieve an inspired aesthetic. With KLEIN you’ll experience exceptional quality at every level along with easy and intuitive installation.
