As we are tying up any loose ends to the year, we can’t help but reflect on what a fantastic year 2022 was for KLEIN.
For over 90 years, our team has made it their mission to be the best architectural systems providers in the world, and every year we continue down that path. See the map below to see how much geographical growth we have accomplished over the past (almost) century.
But as a European owned company, it has been our mission to continue expanding across the United States. We have experienced a lot of growth in the past year, and here are some of our most prominent highlights from the US in the last 12 months.
- Attended 8 expos and seminars in the architecture, glazier, and woodworking sectors.
- Earned Cradle to Cradle certifications on five systems
- Launched 3 NEW product lines
- Winning the Interior Design Magazine HiP award for NATURE
Expos and Seminars
Attending industry-wide expos and seminars can be a great way to learn about new trends, developments, and products. Additionally, it can also be a great networking opportunity. You never know who you might meet at one of these events and what connections you could make. Attendance also shows that you’re dedicated to your industry and are always looking for ways to improve your craft.
For these reasons, we set out to attend as many events in the architecture, glazier, and woodworking sectors as we could make the time for, including
- Glass Expo Southeast
- Glass Expo Northeast
- HD Expo
- Glass Mid-Atlantic Expo
- NeoCon
- International Woodworking Fair
- Glassbuild America
- BDNY Expo
Cradle to Cradle
The importance of sustainability in building products cannot be understated. The most sustainable buildings are built to last, using materials that can withstand the elements and minimize the need for repairs or replacement.
The most important thing is to consider the life cycle of a building when making decisions about its construction. A well-built and properly maintained structure will save money in the long run, even if it costs more to build initially. By contrast, a poorly constructed or badly maintained building will eventually require expensive repairs or demolition. Investing in sustainability upfront will pay off in the long run by saving money and resources.
At KLEIN, we have placed sustainability at the forefront of our R+D department, resulting in 5 of our popular systems earning Cradle to Cradle certifications. All five products recognized this year include:
- NATURE – our oak-wood sliding door system for glass panels
- LITE+ – our recessed or surfaced aluminum system made for large wooden doors
- ROLLGLASS+ – our fixed glass with single glass slider system
- UNIKGLASS – Our barn door system for glass panels
Our Newest Product Lines
We find innovation a very important element for us to integrate on a consistent basis. This allows us to stay ahead of the competition and maintain a position of leadership in their industry. Additionally, by introducing new products, building industry professionals can tap into new markets and expand their customer base along with the ever-changing evolution of how we design spaces.
Introducing new products is a lot of work, but thanks to our dedicated team, we were able to launch three new product lines in the United States in 2022. Here are our newest editions to the KLEIN inventory:
- SENSUS – An economic sliding door system using single wood panels
- SLID FOLD – 2 to 5 panel folding door systems for heavy wooden panels
- LEVEL – Our first ever wooden swing door system
Awards and Recognitions
One of our proudest moments of 2022 was winning the Interior Design HiP award for our system NATURE. Interior Design’s HiP at NeoCon Awards is a recognition program honoring industry people and innovative products. This unique initiative honors commercial industry pioneers and achievements in product design.
Announced at NeoCon in Chicago and followed by an interview, you can learn more about this award, our company, and NATURE by watching an interview with our managing director, Lluis, and Interior Design Magazine’s Helene Oberman.
Moving Forward
As we continue to expand into the US, we can reflect back on the milestones of the years that have led us to where we are today. We are most fortunate to have a solid foundation of quality door systems to stand behind, and with that comes a strong and dedicated team at KLEIN.
Our systems come with a 5-year warranty and have been tested over 100,000 times for the KLEIN “stamp of approval” to be shipped.
